IN MEMORY ...

Memorial Park on Tybee Island Georgia is home to the

Tybee Island Veteran's Circle
of Freedom Memorial Monument

that enshrines and encompasses brave souls from each branch of our services. It is a representation of a community that stands proudly together supporting all that this nation represents- love of family, freedom for all.

Featured on the Memorial, In Memory page
are some of our members and special people who have helped shape Post 154.

The Post 154 website is an electronic magazine featuring articles on veterans issues and historical accounts of military and national past and present events that have and continue to affect us all.

A series of articles, "Vet Views" features interviews with veterans, their families, friends, and their life changing paths. It is my intent to put a face on the word "veteran" and to parallel their path with our world's historical events.

I invite all visiting this website to share links or articles regarding veterans, their families. I would be happy to add to the featured stories or share your personal story of military or historical events that continue to shape us today.

Thank you for your interest, thank you for supporting the veterans and their families!

"Why do you want to interview me for the American Legion website? I didn't do anything special "

I have heard that question many times over and each time. I chuckle and reply; I am sorry, you are mistaken.

Any person who has served, or currently serving, has their own intrinsic story to tell.

You are a special piece in this puzzle that has aided in maintaining our democracy and the history of our culture.
Your life path is special to us all.
I believe we are all pieces within this great puzzle of democracy and all need to openly communicate our life experiences,
goals, and ideals to achieve the complete puzzle of democracy for generations to come.
Now . . . what do you believe?

January 6th, 2021 Marked A Very Sad Day In Our American Democracy.
Please take a moment out of your day and remember how our Capital and DC officers tried to protect our legislative governing body from the actions of citizens that tried to thwart our democracy process through violence instigated by proven misguided truths of the loss of a Presidential election.
Remember the remaining loved ones of those who fell in harms way January 6th as we remember all of our           soldiers at home and abroad continuing to strive to maintain our freedom and justice for all,
not just for some! Always find out the truth with any and all information from reliable sources ....

Thank You For Supporting Our Vets And Their Families

Post 154 proudly hosted the launch location for "The Ruck" and a complimentary breakfast.

It was a gathering of all military branches that marched together sporting briefs, combat boots, and their ruck bag- weighted down a good forty pounds

It was a fundraiser for soldiers helping soldiers

in their struggle with PTSD.

Thank All The Vets Every Day

These are the soldiers of today that sacrifice their lives for us....

John Calvert has forever had an interest in military history.
It was quite fitting he was instrumental in securing this signage via Tybee's Historical group after it had been removed from the fort's guard house. That is his jeep seen above- a dedicated piece of history commemorating his Dad. Thank you John for sharing this great moment in Post 154 history.
